Drive cultural change with meaning, authenticity and emotional force.
A Full-day Workshop for HR Leaders and People Managers
It takes storytelling to give meaning to culture building initiatives like engagement, belonging and diversity & inclusion. Storytelling helps us answer questions of why?: why others should care, why they should get on board, why it’s essential to make one choice over another. Without effective storytelling, these initiatives reduce to a series of tactics, where the whole is less than the sum of the parts.
For effective culture leaders, storytelling is about much more than presentation skills. Storytelling is a way of thinking. Storytelling empowers you to create compelling frames and metaphors that generate understanding, and helps you use empathy to make your story feel authentic for each new audience. By learning to become a storyteller, you’ll gain access to a tangible set of meaning-creating frameworks, as well as the guided practice in how to apply them.
In this session, you’ll learn how to integrate strategy with storytelling to drive alignment, buy-in and accelerated adoption of culture change.
This workshop is tangible and highly experiential. You’ll come into the day having decided on the story you want to workshop, like the narrative around a particular culture initiative. Over the course of the day, you’ll dive deep into this story, using a set of powerful and innovative exercises. You’ll leave with new insights into storytelling, as well as tangible work you can apply immediately.

Jordan Bower’s superpower is bridging strategy & story. The founder of Transformational Storytelling, an innovation consultancy. A graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business. A compelling keynote speaker. An adept and playful facilitator. A vocal advocate for gender-balanced leadership. Jordan has worked with leaders at start-ups, corporations and foundations across North America. He is based in Vancouver, where he is putting the finishing touches on a book about his walking trip from Canada to Mexico. (It took 316 days and 3 pairs of shoes.)
Jordan worked with my team earlier this year. It was a remarkable experience for all.... even the skeptics! They walked away with concrete improvements and I have seen many put the lessons to work in their everyday interactions to be more effective and influencing.

Jordan's ability to help us take different views and methodologies and turn them into a cohesive summary understood not only by all the participants, but by others in our organization, is truly amazing.
