Use your authentic story to improve your influence, engagement and impact.

As a small business person, your professional performance is inextricably linked to who you are inside. I help you address both levels of the story simultaneously in order to achieve truly profound growth.

Phase One

Analyze Existing State

Start with a comprehensive audit of your existing story, including review of online materials — websites, social media campaigns, including qualitative aspects as well as analytics — and offline sales, marketing and strategic documents. Next, we conduct a comprehensive set of interviews with actors inside and outside your company — managers, employees, customers, suppliers, etc. — to get a sense of your story from all angles.

Phase Two

Develop Source Material

We work together through a big picture creative process to develop “storytelling source material.” Storytelling source material is like writing the first draft of a book — as we work together on developing the content, the deeper, more profound story beneath the story will begin to appear. Storytelling source material comprises your business origin story, the “characters”  lessons and experiences you’ve had along the way and other thematic narrative components that will improve the impact of your storytelling pieces built through subsequent phases.

Phase Three

Create a Prototype

Instead of investing heavily in one communications product — like a website or a brochure — we follow the same process used by top tech firms, designing an inexpensive “prototype” of your story that can be tested with a target audience. The goal isn’t to nail a perfect story on the first try; it’s to get you used to the iterative process of continually telling your story. (After all, you’ll be telling your professional story for as long as you’re in business.) By working side-by-side with you through this design process, you’ll learn the skills and behaviors of a storyteller — lessons that will have a far-reaching and sustained impact on your sales and leadership communications.

Phase Four

Scale Your Story

By testing your prototype, you’ll quickly receive valuable feedback that you can immediately integrate into your storytelling approach. And by bravely changing your story, you will inevitably reveal new strategic opportunities. As your deepest story becomes clear, we explore how it can open up new business development opportunities. Having succeeded with setting a new direction, we set up course correction systems to ensure that the long term trajectory is sustained.

Let's tell the world your story.
