About This Training

Brand Marketing Storytelling Training is designed for marketing teams whose responsibilities include developing compelling brand identities, planning and executing content strategies across multiple platforms and using all those messages to drive meaningful lead development.

In this workshop-style training, you’ll learn a storytelling framework which underlies movies and popular culture, as well as professional written and spoken communication, which you can use again and again. Next, you’ll apply what you’ve learned to one current example of brand messaging. By using design thinking exercises to empathize with your audience, you’ll practice teasing out the storytelling heart of your message to improve audience resonance and engagement. Finally, you’ll test this story directly with your audience, generating valuable feedback that you can immediately apply to future brand communications.

Why Business Storytelling?

A radically authentic way of communicating at work

We all tell stories in order to make sense of the world in which we live. By teaching us to set context, identify key characters and describe an emotional journey, storytelling helps us relate to each other on a human level, breaking down the boundaries and power structures of traditional organizations and reinforcing values of inclusion, collaborative work and empathy demanded by the world today.

Why Storytelling?

In our current media environment, attention is at a premium. Marketing who use storytelling concepts are far more effective at grabbing attention and creating emotionally meaningful, engaging connections with their core target audiences. By identifying the most compelling emotional messages at the heart of your story, developing compelling characters and framing your message in a participatory and solutions oriented way, you’ll find that you vastly improve your ability to engage your target audience and create meaningful connections.

At a more profound level, the stories we tell often contain limiting ideas that compromise the progress of a product, service or entire organization. Telling a new story does more than generate authentic hope — it can also help you overcome real limitations to your success. Through the act of Strategic Storytelling, you personally can find more meaning and excitement in your work, and translate that excitement into a passion that inspires and compels others.
