what i’m about

my name is jordan bower.  i’m from toronto, canada.

my interests revolve around politics, social change, consumerism, community building, design, technology, and ultimate frisbee.   i graduated with an undergraduate degree in business management from the richard ivey school of business in 2003.  since then, i’ve worked and explored all around the world.  most recently, i was an intern with indicorps, an ngo based in ahmedabad, india, where i taught ultimate frisbee in local communities as a way of promoting mutual respect and understanding that transcended cultural, socioeconomic, and religious boundaries.

i intend to pursue a mfa in design and technology at parsons the new school for design in new york city, beginning in september 2009.  my intention is to use my combined skillset to address public policy and social change problems, relying upon a deep understanding of the relevance of design and technological issues to the modern society.  until then, i am focused on gaining relevant experience both in canada and abroad.

i am a passionate amateur photographer, attempting to create authentic work that focuses on the diverse ethnosphere that is quickly being erased by modern consumerism.  i am looking to inspire and to be inspired.  my favourite authors are haruki murakami, martin amis, aldous huxley, and gandhi.

you can also find me on facebook, flickr, and delicious.   my photography is on this site, at the link above.

Keep it coming, Bowser. It keeps me occupied while at work.
